أ ـ لَم يَـكفُر بِاللّهِ طَرفَةَ عَينٍ
He Who Has not Disbelieved Even A Single Moment
707. رسول اللّه صلى الله عليه و آله :
707. The Prophet (SA) said:
إنَّ سُبّاقَ الاُمَمِ ثَلاثَةٌ لَم يَكفُروا طَرفَةَ عَينٍ :
“The forerunners of communities are three who have not disbelieved even a single moment:
عَلِيُّ بنُ أبي طالِبٍ ،
Ali ibn Abi Talib,
وصاحِبُ ياسينَ ،
the companion of Yasin
ومُؤمِنُ آلِ فِرعَونَ ،
and the believer of the family of Pharaoh.
فَهُمُ الصِّدِّيقونَ ،
They are the most truthful [ones]
وعَلِيٌّ أفضَلُهُم .
and Ali is the best of them.”

إنّي لَم اُشرِك بِاللّهِ طَرفَةَ عَينٍ ،
“I have not associated [any partners] with God at all,
ولَم أعبُدِ اللّاتَ وَالعُزّى .

أوَّلُكُم وارِدا عَلَى الحَوضِ أوَّلُكُم إسلاما ؛ عَلِيُّ بنُ أبي طالِبٍ .
“The first of you to join the Pond [of Kawthar] is the first amongst you to embrace Islam, Ali ibn Abi Talib.”

713. Al-Kafi, reporting from Said ibn al-Musayyib, who said:
سَأَلتُ عَلِيَّ بنَ الحُسَينِ عليهماالسلام :
“I asked Ali ibn al- Husain (AS):
اِبنَ كَم كانَ عَلِيُّ بنُ أبي طالِبٍ عليه السلام يَومَ أسلَمَ ؟
How old was Ali ibn Abi Talib when he embraced Islam?
فَقالَ عليه السلام : أ وَكانَ كافِرا قَطُّ ؟
He said: Was he ever a disbeliever?
إنَّما كانَ لِعَلِيٍّ عليه السلام حَيثُ بَعَثَ اللّهُ عَزَّ وجَلَّ رَسولَهُ صلى الله عليه و آله عَشرُ سِنينَ ،
Indeed, Ali (AS) was ten years old when God, sent forth His Messenger (SA).
ولَم يَكُن يَومَئِذٍ كافِرا ،
He was not then a disbeliever.
ولَقَد آمَنَ بِاللّهِ تَبارَكَ وتَعالى وبِرَسولِهِ صلى الله عليه و آله ،
He believed in God and His Messenger (SA),
وسَبَقَ النّاسَ كُلَّهُم إلَى الإِيمانِ بِاللّهِ وبِرَسولِهِ صلى الله عليه و آله وإلَى الصَّلاةِ بِثَلاثِ سِنينَ ،
preceding all the people in belief in God and His Messenger (SA) and in prayer by three years.
وكانَت أوَّلُ صَلاةٍ صَلّاها مَعَ رَسولِ اللّهِ صلى الله عليه و آله الظُّهرَ رَكعَتَينِ .
The first prayer he performed with the Messenger of God (SA) was the two-unit midday prayer.”

714. Al-Mustadrak Ala al-Sahihayn, reporting from Anas, who said:
نُبِّئَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه و آله يَومَ الإِثنَينِ ،
“The Prophet (SA) was sent forth on Monday
وأسلَمَ عَلِيٌّ عليه السلام يَومَ الثُّلاثاءِ .
and Ali embraced Islam on Tuesday.”

715. الإمام عليّ عليه السلام :

لَو كُشِفَ الغِطاءُ مَا ازدَدتُ يَقينا .
“If the veil were to be opened‚ I would not gain more certitude.” [That is ‘if reality were to be unveiled to me‚ I would not gain more certitude’ (Editor).]

أشهَدُ عَلى رَسولِ اللّهِ صلى الله عليه و آله لَسَمِعتُهُ وهُوَ يَقولُ :
“I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of God (SA) say:
لَو أنَّ السَّماواتِ السَّبعَ وَالأَرَضينَ السَّبعَ وُضِعنَ في كِفَّةِ ميزانٍ ،
If the seven heavens and seven earths are to be placed on a pan of scales
ووُضِعَ إيمانُ عَلِيٍّ في كِفَّةِ ميزانٍ ،
and the faith of Ali placed on the other,
لَرَجَحَ إيمانُ عَلِيٍّ .
the faith of Ali will outweigh it.”

الإِيمانُ مُخالِطٌ لَحمَكَ ودَمَكَ كَما خالَطَ لَحمي ودَمي .
“Faith is mingled with your flesh and blood as it had blended with my flesh and blood.”
