The present article is the text of speech which Ayatullah Ali Meshkini delivered in the sixth meeting on hadith scholarship. The relation between fiqh (jurisprudence) and hadith is the subject of his speech .In this article, fiqh (jurisprudence) and hadith has been separately defined and their most important sources introduced, and then the relation between them verified. This article argues that although hadith or sunnah is used as an evidence like other legal evidences but it stands in the first place because of its extend and application. Hence it is necessary for faqihs to increase their knowledge of hadith.
