Tradition of Excellence in Usul al-Kafi: Compatible or Incompatible

A group of traditions and revelation hadiths speak of excellence in speech, behavior and worship. These sorts of traditions are abundant in "al-Kafi". Their most important feature is explanation of an advantage in the form of tafdil. Due to this feature, at first glance, it may seem that they are contradictory. This study examines the compatibility or incompatibility of these sayings. The most important finding of the present study indicates that difference between these traditions is of primitive or apparent difference. Reflecting on each of the narratives or exploring the relationships among them, and understanding the audience and other elements will resolve these apparent differences.

Infallible Imams’ supplication is a voluminous chapter of their cultural life. Since their bond with the Quran is eternal, no doubt, the Quran - more than any other source – is the source of their ideas and behavior within each act of speech, manner and behavior, including "prayer".
