Women's Contribution to Hadith Literature (Pt. II)

As it was said in the previous issue, the present article is concerned with the womens contribution to hadith literature from the early Islam to the present time.In the first part, the author first tried to identify the sources and then cames up with the women's role and contribution in this field. Presenting some chart and graphs, he finally rendered an analysis of the previous discussions. In the first section, the author introduced some Shi'i and Sunni rijal books in which names of women transmitter of hadith has been mentioned. In the second section, he surveys thoses hadith books which have exclusively dedicated to women transmitter of hadith, among them hadith books of Fatima al-Zahra, peace be upon her, and 'Aisha. In the present part, he points out to some licences (Ijazah) which have been given to women for transmitting hadith, specially the Shia women. To prove this He also mentions some instances in which some men have issued licence for women and vice versa.
