Prospectus
Dar al-Hadith Cultural Institute is the first and greatest Centre
devoted to teamwork reserch on the hadith Scholarship, its
dissemination, and teaching. This Institute was Restablished by
Hojatoleslam Muhammadi–Rayshari in 1371 / 1992 and was formally opened
in 1374 / 1996 with the message of the esteemed leader of the Revolution
Ayatollah Khamenei.
The Scope of the Activities of the Institute:
1.College of Hadith Sciences.
Due to the necessity of training spelialists in hadith
scholarship, the establishment of the college of Hadith Sciences was
certified by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution on 2 Mehr
1374 / 24 September
1996. It offers cources in three disciplines: 'ilm al–hadith' Hadith
sciences', mustalah al–hadith 'hadith terminology', and rijal al–hadith
'hadith reportes'. With an area of 20,000 square metres, the College of
Hadith Sciences is established beside the Shrine of al–Hasani. It is
opened to admit the students and lovers of the words of the Ahl al–Bayt
.
2.The Academy.
The main career of this Academy is to direct research on hadiths
and the related disciplines. The
Research Centre, the oldest section, has since concentrated its efforts
on the compilation of an encyclopedia of
hadiths, entitled Mizan al–Hikma, a considerable portion of which has
already finished. Moreover, it has published some other separate
collection of hadith. In addition to the above, there are other
sections,
active on such themes as the revival of hadith texts, translation and
compilation, rijal 'science of hadith authorities', and fiqh al–hadith
'the fiqh of the hadiths'.
3.Information Centre.
This Centre is in charge of the dissemination and promulgation of
hadiths. To achieve this end, a number
of efforts have been done such as the establishment of hadith Centres,
holding competitions, cultural
exhibitions, telephone and computer servies as well as correspondence on
hadith questions, and collection, edition, and publication of a number
of various and interesting hadith collections.
4.Hadith Specialized Library.
To answer the needs of the reserch activities with a support of
hadith books and refernces, there is a specialized library beside the
research centre, housing over 20,000 volumes of books (from home and
abroad) with special services to researchers.
5.'Ulum-i Hadith [Hadith Sciences] Quarterly.
This is the only specialised and scholarly journal of hadith
scholarship, published in Presian. Besides being
an intellectual and educational forum for hadith sciences, it also
serves as a bridge between all the thinkers and those who are interested
in hadiths. Since its publication in the autumn of 1374/1996, it has
published tens of articles, interviews, and other useful materials.
6.'Ulum al-Hadith Biquarterly.
In addition to the Journal 'Ulum-i Hadith, the Institute also
publishes an Arabic bi-quarterly journal, entitled
'Ulum al-Hadith . Being a specialised journal, its contents and articles
are different from those of the Persian journal mentioned above .
7.Publications.
The office of publications of the Dar al–Hadith Cultural
Institute has undertaken the publication and distribution of hadith
books and other research level publications. It has agencies in Tehran,
Mashhad, Qum, and Beirut. This office has published tens of titles and
made them available to those who seek such literature. |
