The root of piety is keeping away from sins, and restraining oneself from the forbidden.

الوَرَعُ يحجِزُ عَنِ ارْتِكابِ المَحارِمِ . ح: 1436

لا يَزكو العِلمُ بغَيرِ وَرَعٍ . ح: 10689
