Conjecture

Beware of entertaining suspicious thoughts for verily suspicion corrupts worship.

ظَنُّ الرَّجُلِ على‏ قَدرِ عَقلِهِ . ح: 6038

A man’s conjecture is proportionate to the extent of his reason. H: 6038

ظنُّ العاقِلِ أصَحُّ مِن يَقينِ الجاهِلِ . ح: 6040

An intellectual man’s conjecture is sounder than an ignorant man’s certainty. H: 6040

حُسنُ الظَّنِّ يُخَفِّفُ الَهمَّ ، ويُنجي من تَقَلُّدِ الإثمِ . ح: 4823

Entertaining good opinions reduces anxiety, and saves one from being taken over by sin. H: 4823

مَن حَسُنَ ظَنُّهُ بِالناسِ حازَ مِنهُمُ المَحَبَّةَ . ح: 8842

The one who thinks the best of people gains their love. H: 8842

لا إيمانَ مَع سُوءِ الظَّنِّ . ح: 10534

There is no room for faith with suspicion. H: 10534

إيّاكَ أن تُسِي‏ءَ الظَّنَّ؛ فإنّ سُوءَ الظَّنِّ يُفسِدُ العِبادَةَ . ح: 2709
