407 - عِلَّةُ الخُلودِ

407. The Reason for Perpetuity in Hell

1282.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام : إنّما خُلِّدَ أهلُ النّارِ في النّارِ لأنّ نِيّاتِهِم كانَت في الدُّنيا أنْ لَو خُلِّدوا فيها أنْ يَعْصوا اللَّهَ أبَداً ، وإنّما خُلِّدَ أهلُ الجَنّةِ في الجنّةِ لأنَّ نِيّاتِهِم كانتْ في الدُّنيا أنْ لو بَقوا فيها أنْ يُطيعوا اللَّهَ أبداً ، فبِالنِّيّاتِ خُلِّدَ هؤلاءِ وهؤلاءِ - ثُمَّ تلا قولَهُ تعالى‏ - : (قُلْ كُلٌّ يَعْمَلُ على‏ شَاكِلَتِهِ)1 ، قال : على‏ نِيَّتهِ .2

1282.Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, 'The people of the Fire will be kept permanently in the Fire because their intentions in the world were such that if they were to live forever therein, they would disobey Allah forever. And verily the people of Paradise will also be made to remain in Paradise permanently because their intentions in this world were to obey Allah if only they were to live there forever. So, it is due to their intentions that these and those have their permanent residence.' Then Imam recited the word of Allah, the Exalted: "Say, 'Everyone acts according to his character" 3 and said that it means according to his intention.' 4

406 - مَن يَخرُجُ مِن النّارِ

406. Those Who Will Leave the Fire

1280.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : يَخْرُجُ مِن النّارِ مَن كانَ في قَلبهِ مِثْقالُ ذَرّةٍ مِن إيمانٍ .1

1280.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'He who has even an atom's weight of faith in his heart will leave the Fire.' 2

1281.الإمامُ الباقرُ عليه السلام : إنّ قَوماً يُحْرَقونَ في (ب)النّارِ حتّى‏ إذا صاروا حُمَماً (حَميماً) أدْرَكَتْهُمُ الشَّفاعةُ .3

1281.Imam al-Baqir (AS) said, 'Some people will burn in the Fire, until they are burned to ashes [and become pure] - then they will be taken out through intercession.' 4
