‘Quran and Medicine’ Library Launched in Tehran

The first phase of a specialized library of ‘Quran and Medicine’ has been launched here in the Iranian capital.

Mostafa Abbasi Moqaddam, the head of Iranian health ministry’s Quran and Itra center, told IQNA that the library contains various books published in Iran and other countries on subjects related to Quran and medicine.

He said digital libraries and data banks on these subjects should also be established.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Abbasi Moqaddam said health-related Quranic teachings are wide-ranging and cover different aspects including physical, psychological, social and spiritual health.

He noted that researchers, scholars and students in other fields can, thus, help the health ministry in developing research on issues related to Quran and medicine.

In recent years, special attention has been paid in Iran to research on the teachings of the Holy Quran about medical and health issues and a number of seminars and conferences have been organized in the country on this subject.
