The second edition of “Sheikh Ghanim bin Ali Al Thani” competition on memorization of the Holy Quran and Nabawi Hadiths was held for students of universities and Quranic schools all over India.

The second edition of “Sheikh Ghanim bin Ali Al Thani” competition on memorization of the Holy Quran and Nabawi Hadiths was held for students of universities and Quranic schools all over India.

According to Al’arab newspaper, Qatar supported the Quranic competition organized in Darbhanga city of Bihar State of India.

Students of 75 Quranic centers and universities from different parts of the country participated at the competition.

The opening ceremony of the competition was held on February 22 with the participation of a large number of Quran experts, scholars, and Indian religious and political figures.

Memorization of Nabawi Hadiths, based on “Arba’een Nawawi” which is a collection of 42 Hadiths of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), was the new category included in this edition of the Quranic event.

Memorization of the Holy Quran in a style other than Hafs an ‘Asim recitation, memorization of the entire Quran for those aged less than 15, and memorization of the entire Quran for children less than 10 were other categories of the competition.

Muzaffarpur city of Bihar State hosted the first edition of the competition attended by students of 70 schools of the country.
