Hadith Memorization Competition Held in Iraq

A competition on memorization of Hadiths was organized for Iraqi women by Al-Hura Zainab (SA) Quranic Center affiliated to the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine.

According to the website of the Astan, introducing the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) to the women of the country was the main objective of the competition.

Sa’duddin Al-Banna, general supervisor of the Quranic center, said the center aims to get the society more acquainted with religious culture, Islamic teachings and the school of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).

Sareh Muhammad, director of Al-Hura Center said the competition was held in different parts of the country such as the shrine of Kumail bin Ziyad in the holy city of Najaf as well as in Baghdad and Wasit Provinces.

There were 353 participants in Basra alone, she said, hailing how well it was received by the girls and women of the country.

The cultural activist stressed that the center will continue organizing religious and Quranic competitions all over the country in line with its objective, which is to disseminate the culture of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
