QOM (IQNA) - Competitions in the written section of Al-Mustafa International University's 20th International Quran and Hadith Olympiad began on November 27 in the holy city of Qom.

 Alireza Qorbani, head of the secretariat of this edition of the Olympiad, told IQNA that “Quranic Culture and Lifestyle” is the motto of the competitions, which will continue until December 3.

“Concepts of the Holy Quran’s verses and Hadiths”, “Quranic studies, Nahjul Balaqa and Sahifa”, and “chronological interpretation of the Holy Quran” are three categories of the written section respectively associate degree, BA and MA students.

PhD level students compete in thematic interpretation of the Holy Quran.

“Hadith studies” is another category of this section in which PhD and MA students will compete.

Those willing to attend the written section of the Olympiad can still do so by referring to www.quran.mu.ac.ir and taking the online examinations, he added.

The sources of competitions for this stage have been selected from among the works written by eminent figures of seminary schools such as Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi and Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli.

The selected texts have been compiled in the form of a 6-volume collection of books titled “Naseem-e Hedayat” (breeze of guidance) in Arabic and Persian, “Kalam-e Naab” (noble word), “Bayaan-e Naab” (noble saying), “Mabahith Al-Ma’ni min Majma’ Al-Bayan fi Tafseer Al-Quran” in Arabic and Persian, “Scientific Discussions in Al-Mizan Commentary” and “Mafatih Al-Hayat”.

Since the written competitions are held online, it is possible for students in different branches of the university in various parts of Iran and other countries to attend it simultaneously.
