237 - البَصيرَةُ

237. Insight

(وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيراً مِنَ الجِنِّ وَالإِنْسِ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ لا يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ آذَانٌ لا يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا أُولئِكَ كَالْأَنْعَامِ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ أُولئِكَ هُمُ الْغافِلُونَ) .1

"Certainly We have created for hell many of the jinn and humans: they have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, they have ears with which they do not hear. They are like cattle; rather they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless." 2

781.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : ليسَ الأعمى‏ مَن يَعْمى‏ بَصرُهُ ، إنَّما الأعمى‏ مَن تَعْمى‏ بَصيرتُهُ .3

781.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'The blind is not someone who has lost his eyesight, but the one who has lost his insight.' 4

782.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : نَظَرُ البَصَرِ لا يُجْدي إذا عَمِيَتِ البَصيرةُ .5

782.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Eyesight is useless if the insight goes blind.' 6

783.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : فإنّما البَصيرُ مَن سمِعَ فتَفَكّرَ ، ونَظرَ فأبْصرَ ، وانْتَفعَ بالعِبَرِ ، ثُمّ سَلَكَ جَدَداً واضِحاً يَتَجنّبُ فيهِ الصَّرْعَةَ في المَهاوِي .7

783.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Indeed, the insightful one is he who listens and contemplates, looks and sees, derives benefit from lessons, then he takes a clear path on which he avoids the falls into abysses.' 8

784.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : لَيستِ الرَّوِيَّةُ كَالمُعايَنَةِ مَع الإبْصارِ ؛ فقد تَكذِبُ العُيونُ أهلَها ، ولا يَغُشُّ العقلُ مَنِ اسْتَنْصحَهُ .9

784.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Vision is not dependent on the eyes, for the eyes may often belie their owners, yet the mind never deceives a man seeking its counsel.' 10

785.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : فَقْدُ البَصرِ أهْوَنُ مِن فِقْدانِ البَصيرةِ .11

785.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Losing one's eyesight is easier than losing one's insight.' 12

786.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : أبْصَرُ النّاسِ مَن أبْصَرَ عُيوبَهُ وأقْلَعَ عن ذُنوبِهِ .13

786. Imam li (AS) said, 'The most insightful person is he who sees his own flaws and refrains from sins as a result.' 14
