Quran Translations on Display in Malaysia

A collection of translations of the Holy Quran in different languages will be put on display in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur.

They will be showcased on the sidelines of a conference featuring ‘Islamic Cultures in China and Malaysia’, French. People daily website reported.

There will be renderings of the Holy Book into Chinese, Uyghur, Kyrghiz and Kazakh Languages, according to the report.

On display will also be a rare copy of the Holy Quran weighing 86 kilograms. It has been written on a special Chinese paper by 80 Chinese calligraphers.

The Islamic Cultures in China and Malaysia conference is slated to be held in Malaysia from July 3 to July 8.

On the sidelines of the conference, there will be other programs including a Quran recitation competition and an exhibition of handicrafts created by Chinese Muslims.

China is home to a large number of adherents of Islam. Muslims make up around 2 percent of the population of the world’s most populous country.
