The precious Quran copy had been sold to a follower of Hindu religion who gifted it to a Muslim citizen in London, the Public Relations and International Affairs Center of the Organization of Libraries, Museums and Documents Center of Astan-e Quds Razavi reported.

It was donated to the library by Narges Khatun Kurji on behalf of late Bahador Ali Gholam Hussein Kurji Asaria.

Ja’far Darbagh Anbaran, head of the library and deputy of the organization said that the manuscript was written in Naskh script.

The copy is illuminated and the name of Surahs and vowels are in red color, he added.

Narges Khatun Kurji said that the manuscript was donated based on the will of Bahador Ali and that the love and respect for Imam Reza (AS) was the most important reason and motivation in this decision.

The manuscripts treasury of Astan-e Quds Razavi with some 85000 copies is considered as one of the intellectual centers of the Muslim world.
