IBNA: A scholarly gathering is arranged to be held in Tehran’s Rey City in the presence of the country’s greatest thinkers in a number of scientific fields like astronomy, chemistry and religious studies.
The conference is being held with the aim of informing Iranian youths with innovations and discoveries achieved by Iranian and Islamic scientists throughout history in natural sciences.
The conference is meant to counter the widespread view among youngsters that science and knowledge is imported from the West to Iran and other Islamic countries, which is opposed to the prevalent stance that the founders of mainstream scientific trends are Islamic and Iranian thinkers and westerners got to know about their works during the Renaissance.
Lecturers from Iran’s top universities will deliver addresses on their latest research findings in the conference.
So far, 20 papers have been submitted to the secretariat of the conference. Some of the works will be delivered during the conference and the rest will be presented as posters. The best ones will also be published in a book after the conference is over.
Furthermore, Mehdi Golshani, the writer of ‘Nature and the Quran’ in English and Arabic, will deliver a lecture in the conference. What is more, Dr. Naser Kanani and Hassan Bolouri from Berlin University will participate in the conference live from their offices.
The event is slated to be held on February 20 at the Sheikh Sadugh Hall of Hazrat Abdolazim’s Holy Shrine.
The shrine of Hazrat Abdolazim is located south of Iran and has turned into a scientific hub in astronomy and a number of the related disciplines in recent years.
