Last Date for Submissions to the National Conference on Hadith of Imam Reza (a.s)

The head of the organizing committee of the National Conference on Hadith of Imam Reza (a.s) announced that the last date of sending submissions to the conference is 6th August 2013 (15th Mordad 1392 of Iranian Calendar).

HadithNet website quoting from Fars News Agency reported that Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimeen Mahdi Ghulamali while referring to the Conference on Hadith of Imam Reza (a.s) said, “Imam Reza International Cultural and Art Foundation was founded with the aim of organizing conferences on various topics related to Imam Reza (a.s). Qum being one of the two most important religious cities in Iran, has so far organized various conferences about Imam Reza (a.s).”

The head of the organizing committee of the Conference on Hadith of Imam Reza (a.s) added that after extensive discussions it was decided to organize this conference as part of Imam Reza (a.s) International Arts and Culture Festival. Elaborating on the theme of the conference he said, “Imam Reza (a.s), the eighth Shiite Imam, during his presence in Iran, narrated many traditions (Ahadith). These traditions were narrated sometimes in teaching sessions. Some of them were orally transmitted and some others were mentioned during different debates.”

He while referring to various collaborating centers and institutes said, “Dar al-Hadith Institute, Quran and Hadith University, Quran and Hadith Research Institute, Al Mustafa University, Noor Computer Research Center for Islamic Sciences, Advanced Center for Hadith, Hadith Society of Qum Seminary, Department of Cultural and Islamic Guidance are collaborating with us in this effort.”

He also added that this conference will be held at different sections to cater different groups. These groups include senior teachers, research fellows, university and seminary students.

The general section of the conference includes themes like story writing which are attractive and which were welcomed by the people.

Mr. Ghulamali mentioned that forty different stories have been written based on the traditions narrated by Imam Reza (a.s). These stories all in Persian have been put up on Dar al Hadith website and interested participants can chose five stories from these and participate in the competition.

The topics taken into consideration for the section specific to senior teachers and university and seminary students includes topics like Imam Reza’s spiritual way of life, Imam Reza’s (a.s) reverence for the Prophet (s.a) and the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s).

Other themes which will be discussed in the conference are Imam Reza’s (a.s) way of life in the areas of Education, Politics and Economy.

Apart from the above mentioned themes, themes like life skills, managing relations, family relationships, interaction with people of other sects and religions, upbringing and training methods, will also be part of the conference.

The head of the organizing committee while referring to the Imam Reza’s (a.s) debates with followers of different sects said, “Imam Reza (a.s), the eight Shiite Imam, would debate people in a respectful manner. He would attentively listen to the other side and would take care of the debating etiquettes and manners. Hence his style is example for us. ”

He also referred to the prizes that will be awarded to the winners. The first prize in section of teachers and research fellows will be 1 million and 500 thousand Tumans in cash. The second prize will be will be a cash reward of 1 million Tumans. Third to fifth positions will be awarded a cash prize of 700 Thousand Tumans each.

In the university students and the amateur writers section, the first prize will be cash prize of 1 million Tumans. The second prize will be a cash reward worth 700 thousand Tumans and third to fifth positions will be given a cash prize of 500 thousand Tumans each.

He concluded by saying that the interested participants must submit their work through the Dar al Hadith website (www.hadith.net) or post it to the following address: Qum, 15th Khordad Road, Nawbahar Square, After Jihad Township, Dar al Hadith Institute.
